Purpose of Title Insurance
It’s an insurance policy you buy from a title insurance company when you buy a home or property. It protects you and your lender from loss if a property ownership dispute occurs. The title insurance company searches public records, such as liens, claims, deeds, tax records and maps, to make sure there are no problems in the title’s ownership and history for the property you are buying.

Items to be brought to closing:
- Current Driver’s License(s).
- Social Security Number(s).
- Cashiers check or money order payable to Chesterfield Title Agency (if Necessary).
- Any conditions needed to completed your loan process.
- A 3 day right of rescission may apply to your transaction.
Closing – Purchase
Items to be brought to closing:
- Current Drivers License(s)
- Social Security Number(s)
- Cashier’s check payable to Chesterfield Title Agency
- Funds will be collected and disbursed.
